Roughage

Signs you may not eat enough fruit:

As a check-out operator at your local grocery store, you feel it is necessary to ask a customer, "Is this a pineapple?"

My better half earned his title by keeping a completely straight face when answering, "Yes."

As it is yellow on the inside and rough as hell on the outside (cut in half), there is really not much else that it is likely to be. . . .

Haha! That's GOLD!!!! I've had people ask that about squashes, and various other more *obscure* vegetables, but wow... A pinapple?! I don't think I could have held a straight face - props to your partner!

Lol! That is hilarious! :-)

I was once asked what peas in pods were at the check out - the girl didn't seem to believe that peas really looked like that until she found the little picture on her product code list. Maybe she thought peas grew in the freezer...

I can believe it as a friend once bought a mango at her local Woollies and was asked wonderingly by the check out chick "Is this really what they look like? Cause I wondered..."
And this was apparently a very Australian checkout chick, not an obviously recent immigrant from a fruitless country.
